Custom Error Pages
Take a plunge into website error pages. Find out when they appear and why you should create your individual custom error pages.
When a page on your site doesn't load, an error message will be shown to the website visitor. Because there are different errors, there are different pages which will show up, but what is typical for all of them is that they're generic and probably will have absolutely nothing that is similar to the layout of your website, which can be irritating for any site visitor. That is the reason why web hosting service providers have introduced a feature called Custom Error Pages. For a number of different errors, visitors will see your customized content, which may be informative or amusing, depending on your preference, and which shall match the overall layout of your site, so the pages will not appear as if they are not part of your site at all. You can use this option for a variety of errors - 400 (Bad request), 401 (Unauthorized), 403 (Forbidden) and 404 (File not Found).
Custom Error Pages in Web Hosting
You shall be able to set up custom error pages for all of your domains or subdomains. The function is supported by all web hosting plans that we provide, so as soon as you log in to your Hepsia Control Panel and check out the Hosted Domains section, you can click on the Edit button for a domain/subdomain and in the pop-up which will appear, you could choose the type of error page that should show up - a default one from our system, a typical Apache web server page or a customized one. For the latter alternative, you must assign the URL to the page, so if you use custom pages, you must upload the files in your website hosting account first. One other way is to use an .htaccess file positioned in the domain or subdomain folder with a line for each error type. The correct syntax can be located in our Knowledge Base, so you can use this feature even if you don't have any previous experience.
